Who is Massimo Pavan?

Massimo Pavan is an Italian ceramist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
He studied economics in Milan, but after several years of working, he decided to quit his job and move to the Netherlands.

In Rotterdam, he enrolled in a ceramic course at SKVR, where he quickly developed a fascination for working on the wheel. He dedicated much of his time to throwing and continually refining his technique.

In 2019, Massimo spent a year working in the studio of Bert Kloppers at De Kleimeester, gaining invaluable experience.

By 2020, he opened his own studio in Rotterdam.

What is Birne Ceramics?

In 2022, Massimo began focusing primarily on porcelain, creating pieces that would later be branded under the name BIRNE.

Since 2023, Massimo has been offering private courses, specializing in working with porcelain.
